Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ms. Chen graduated from the National Academy of Arts with the highest honor and performed Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto in 1990. In 1992, Ms. Chen entered the Mannes College of Music and studied with Madame N. Svetlanova and Alexander Paley.
In addition to her many performances as a recitalist and chamber musician, Ms. Chen performed Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Mannes Orchestra, conducted by Maestro N. Charry.
Shortly after graduating from Mannes with a Special Piano Award, Ms. Chen made her debut at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall in 1995.
Ms. Chen has performed throughout the United States and in France, Germany and Italy. In 1998 she joined the casting production of Fedora starring Placido Domingo and Mirella Freni at The Washington Opera. Her recent engagements have included concerts in Leipzig and in Paris, where she debuted with Radio France. Ms. Chen is a member of the faculty of the Mannes College of Music.
